Where I've Worked

Product Engineer, SafeFleet – Randall Facility

Oct 2025 – Present

  • Serve as the sole engineer for the Randall facility, single-handedly covering product development, testing, process improvement, and cross-functional support — requiring fast, independent decision-making across a wide range of technical and business needs.
  • Built two custom drawing-generation applications through AI-assisted (“vibe coding”) development with Claude, cutting customer drawing turnaround from 4 hours to 5 minutes and enabling sales to generate accurate technical drawings independently, without engineering involvement.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on the product line, fielding technical questions directly from sales and customers.
  • Design custom Insulwall solutions to meet specific customer requirements, working directly with clients from spec to implementation.
  • Partner with production to troubleshoot issues and drive continuous process improvements on the floor.

Manufacturing Engineer, SafeFleet

Jan 2024 – Oct 2025

  • Led site to win SafeFleet's company-wide Continuous Improvement Award, driving $720K+ in total labor savings across multiple projects.
  • Delivered three flagship initiatives: a scrap reduction project ($277K), a Kaizen in the Truck & Trailer fabrication area ($103K), and an aluminum welding productivity project ($142K).
  • Led multiple Kaizen events, partnering directly with operators to identify and implement productivity improvements.
  • Trained in Lean methodology, Six Sigma, and Kaizen facilitation.

Design and Manufacturing Engineer, Systemair – Lenexa, KS

Sept 2021 – Jan 2024

  • Automated a tedious and dangerous workcell with a six axis robot, allowing for runs of thousands of parts with minimal human interaction.
  • Implemented a new end-of-line tester, which fully automated the test process, protected operators from 1500V shocks, and with the new level of precision catches future returns.
  • Led the addition of two new product families to our facility, including revamping the CAD and drawings, along with full prototyping and pilot runs, with successful handoffs to production.
  • Programmed helper programs in Python to automate repetitive tasks that were tedious or easy to blunder.
  • Performed wind tunnel performance testing of 30+ fans, including analysis and recommending design change for underperforming fans.
  • Routinely led firefighting efforts out on the line, troubleshooting problems, interpreting drawings, and calibrating test equipment.

Mechanical Engineer II, Black and Veatch – Overland Park, KS

May 2018 – Sept 2021

  • Contributed to the design process for military and intelligence installations.
  • Generated HVAC, chilled water, and plumbing calculations and drawings.
  • Helped develop specifications for projects alongside senior mechanical engineers.
  • Worked cross discipline with electrical, civil, and architectural engineers.
  • Worked with vendors to size and select equipment.

Product Design Intern, Cummins Inc. – Minneapolis, MN

May 2017 – Aug 2017

  • Led the endurance testing for a RV Engine Generator.
  • Assisted in testing and design decisions.
  • Shadowed senior engineers throughout the design process.

Projects

Things I've Built

Corn Maze Rake

Designed a pull behind rake for a skid steer loader to knock down dirt piles generated by the tracks while turning. Utilized back of the napkin calculations and drawings to then work with a welder to make a finished product.

Amateur Game Design

Design, prototype, and program basic software and board games in my free time to hone my programming skills and keep the creative juices flowing.
